What foods are NOT recommended to eat in the morning ❓
There are no strict recommendations that prohibit eating something in the morning. Your breakfast is your choice.
✅ In dietary recommendations, it is advised to choose whole grains or cereals, vegetables, fruits, low-fat unsweetened yogurt as healthy products.
✅ When cooking, limit sugar, salt and fat.
Sweet cereals and granola mixes are not the best choice for breakfast, because they have a lot of added sugar.
Instead of sweet flakes or granola, you can eat whole grain flakes. This is a healthy breakfast option, as they contain fiber, B vitamins, folic acid, iron and magnesium.
📌 For sweetness, you can add fresh fruits, such as bananas or berries. Or pour semi-fat, 1% or skimmed milk, low-fat yogurt without sugar and flavorings, for example Greek.
If you like eggs, you can cook them for breakfast, but it’s better without adding salt or fat.
For example, boiled eggs without salt or an omelet without butter with low-fat milk instead of cream. The American Heart Association suggests eating one egg or two egg whites a day.
🔎 According to the Australian recommendations, you can eat no more than 7 eggs a week, there are no clear restrictions in other dietary recommendations.
For breakfast, you can also eat 1 out of 5 servings of vegetables a day — that’s 80 grams, or how much fits in the palm of your hand.
